Dear parents:
My name is An-Ni Shih, and everyone calls me Anny. I was born in a nuclear family. There are my parents, my three sisters and me. My dad is an engineer, and has his own motorcycle shop, my mom is a handicraft teacher, my older sister works as a saleswoman at MRT Media Company, and my two younger sisters are students. Even though my parents are preoccupied with their work, they still care about our education very much. They always teach us how to do our work not only done but also well, and remind us that we must be responsible for every decision we make, which makes me an independent, cautious, and responsible person.
My hobby is to learn new things, so I read books, surf the internet and watch TV when I have leisure time, I also love to taste delicacies. I eat out with my friends and family on holiday, and sometimes cook by myself, too. Actually, what interests me the most is travel. Well goes the Chinese saying, “Traveling thousands of miles is better than reading thousands of books.” I learn things from traveling experiences. For example, I’ve been to America twice to visit my friends, I booked flights and applied VISA by myself, I not only went there but also came back by myself. This experience has proved that things can be easier with courage and full preparation.
When I was in university, I majored in Navigation, because I dreamed of becoming a pilot, and traveling around the world. During university, I earned the license of First Aid, Personal Survival techniques, Fire Fighting and Personal safety. I also had a part time job at a kindergarten, I played with kids, told them stories, taught them to fold papers and twist balloons. In addition, I fed and changed diapers for little kids, picked kids up and took them home on our school bus. Surrounded by kids, I am full of joy.
Unfortunately, my retina broke at the last year of university. I’d better give up my dream. After graduation, I got a full time job as a teacher at a cram school for kids in elementary because of my professional and experiences. Now, I teach kids math and Chinese, check their homework, take care of them, and am the assistant of foreign teachers, I have a great sense of achievement not only from their improving performance but also from their smiling faces. Every cloud has a silver lining, I realize that I am qualified for this job and I enjoy it. Interacting with kids, I have learned a lot from them. Now, even my sight has already restored, there is nothing wrong with my eyes anymore, still, I prefer being with kids with all my love and efforts.
After I get the information on Au Pair, I think it’s a golden opportunity for me to broaden my horizon, study English, and stay competitive. Most important of all, I can do what I am interested in. I hope that I can be a part of your family and accompany your sweet kids.
