Dear Au Pair Letter:
Our names are Turgay Oguz Yilmaz (30 years old)and Irina Yilmaz (24 years old)... We are Turkish - Russian family who have an 5 months old daughter called Lara G?n Yilmaz...
Because, Irina is pregnant again and after 7 months later we will have our 2nd baby, we realized that we need an older sister who is able to handle responsibility, mature, and honest person but also outgoing and fun, as one of the new member of our happy family to love and look after her little sister by playing with her, helping with her bed and bath duties together with mum. Also, Irina needs help for housework to keep home how we would like to live in it as cleaning and tidying up, helping with the evening meal, ironing, etc. Because of pregnancy period of her, she finds them hard to do on her own, as I work a lot of the time, and sometimes travel a lot because of my work.
A native English speaking member would be great for our family, as we would like Irına and our little sister to get in touch with English at home. I speak Turkish and English fluently, and Irina speaks Turkish, Russian and Romanian fluently. If you wish, we also believe that you can learn and speak Turkish and Russian after some months later.
I would like to give some more information about where we live exactly and about Istanbul, maybe these information will help you to decide easily. And also, I attach some photos from our family and İstanbul.
We live in a flat in the centrum of Istanbul which is the biggest city of Turkiye. Istanbul has more than 12 millions of population... ?There, God and mankind, nature and art altogether have created such a magnificent place on earth that it is worth a visit,? says Lamartine to describe our city encompassing two continents, Asia with one arm and Europe with the other.
The seas and lands divide the geography into four. On both flanks of the Golden Horn are the historical peninsula of Istanbul and Galata while on both flanks of the Bosphorus are the ex-villages, which have now joined the grand city. The settlements along the shores of the Sea of Marmara- the smallest sea in the world- bear witness to the present day size of the city.
Located in the center of the Old World, Istanbul is one of the world's great cities famous for its historical Roman, Byzantine and Turkish monuments and magnificent scenic beauties. It is the only city in the world which spreads over two continents: it lies at a point where Asia and Europe are separated by a narrow strait - the Bosphorus. Istanbul has a history of over 2,500 years, and ever since its establishment on this strategic junction of lands and seas, the city has been a crucial trade center.
The inhabitants of Istanbul enjoy all four seasons. The characteristic weather here is a somewhat cooler version of the Mediterranean climate: a short spring, ideal summer temperatures, a long autumn with blue skies,and a rainy winter...

Regarding our family life, most evenings we eat a home made meal all together. In day time, Irina and Lara G?n likes to go to the park and shopping street near our flat. Our weekends are usually spent by relaxing at home, shopping, restaurants in autumn and winter, and we love going to the beach and going to parks for picnic in spring and summer times. After you join to our family, we will also like to show and go aound the historical monuments, museums, the shores of the Sea of Marmara and scenic beauties of İstanbul with you in free sundays.
We are average income family, and we don?t live in that much big flat but you will have your own room. If you see this chance as only work, we cannot promise big income for you. But we promise that we will not seperate you from any member of our family and try to cover your necessities at home and give you 50 TL (Turkish Lira) per week as your pocket Money.
