Is Au Pair right for me?
ou are young and you would like to do something else. Why not Au Pair program?
Young people have plenty of reasons why they want to be Au Pairs but it makes us laugh all the time when we hear or read “because I love children very much” – common guys what is the pleasure to have a kid nagging you when you’ll rather listen to your favorite music or chatting to your friends on Messenger?
So please stop this kind of thinking. 9 out of 10 will not “love” children. In our opinion this is just overused and it’s the time to judge properly what the reasons of being Au Pairs are.
Few of them, in our humble opinion:
Being an Au Pair will take me away from my parents for, at least, a while.
I’ll see a lot of new places and that will make me cool when I’ll tell my friends about that later.
Adventure, adventure, adventure.
I’ll earn money and that will help me go around.
I’ll learn the language and then I’ll get a job in a western country
My friends are Au Pairs and I’ll try to go after them because they said is alright.
I don’t dislike children and I can deal with them so why not?
These are the most common reasons found by our survey. We don’t mean that you will not find any genuine kid lovers – after all they are cute and having to deal with some bright little monsters can be fun but we never heard from Au Pair that we’ve met that they loved their job. It is something they could do and maximum we could get out of them was “My family is ok”.
This should be enough to give you a picture of the reasons why young people decide to be Au Pairs.
