Austrian Law states that the host family has the obligation to notify the regional office of the Austrian labour authorities (AMS). AMS will issue then the contract of employment with the details of employment.
Non EEA nationals have to apply for a residence permit while outside the country. Other nationals including U.S. citizens may apply within Austria upon arrival.
