How to apply for Accession Worker Card in UK-Romanian and Bulgarian Au Pairs
Accession Worker Card (or purple card) for au pairs is relatively easy to obtain, considering just having to mail some documents to the Home Office UK.
What is Accession Worker card?
Is Accession Worker card a work permit?
NO. Owner of Accession Worker card can work ONLY as an au pair and only for the family upon which to apply for Accession Worker card, limited to a maximum of 25 hours per week. Another aspect worth taking into consideration is that of paying taxes: remuneration received (pocket money / spending money) is exempt from taxes as long as it is less than 90 pounds per week. If it exceeds that amount, you will need to register to pay income tax.
Only after a year of record as au pair you can apply for work permit (Blue Card).
Can I work elsewhere with this card?
NO. Legally, you are entitled to work only for the family upon which you have applied for the card.
